PLEATED MINI SKIRTS ARE ABOUT TO BE EVERYWHERE

And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: mini skirt season! Well, almost. Teases of sunshine signal a sartorial shift towards a free-spirited respite best enjoyed (in our opinions) in a playful, pleated A-line mini skirt.

Longer hemlines may be having their moment — pencil skirts are sexy now and denim maxi skirts are guaranteed to be big this season — but we have it on good authority that the mini isn’t going anywhere. Pleated minis in particular were all over Spring 2023 runways, and the style is projected to go strong into autumn as well, with Collina Strada, Sacai, Sandy Liang, Sergio Hudson and more including them in their Fall 2023 collections.

Of course, it was Miu Miu’s pivotal Fall 2022 collection, with its low-slung khaki set, that set off the frenzy in September of 2021. (And you can bet the brand came back for more with new-season renditions equipped with cargo pockets .) Credit is also due to Chopova Lowena for its signature printed pleats.
