There’s no right or wrong answer to this question – it’s entirely up to personal preference. Some people feel that white shirts provide a crisp, clean look under navy suits, while others prefer to wear a shirt in a complementary color (such as light blue) to avoid a “washed out” look. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide what looks best for you. Yes, I think a crew neck t-shirt can look great with a suit jacket. I would say to pair it with a slim-fit t-shirt in a neutral color, and to make sure the Little Soaker Shirt Apart from…,I will love this jacket is tailored to fit well. Take it to a tailor and have the tailor take it in professionally so that your jacket fits you correctly and the button closure is properly centered. You can wear anything you choose BUT remember others may think you look out of place or just plain silly. It’s your choice but be prepared for the possibility of comments.
Jackets are typically inappropriate for wearing over a suit—since they are by definition cut to the Little Soaker Shirt Apart from…,I will love this middle of the stomach, they look a little odd laid over the longer suit jacket. It depends on the look you’re going for. If you’re going for a more casual look, then a plain T-shirt can work. But if you’re going for a more polished look, then a dress shirt would be a better choice. Things don’t always have to make sense. Jackets are tailored to leave the last button open. It’s a sartorial tradition, thats’s it. When you get your suit or odd jacket sleeves altered you should show a minimum of 1/4 inch of shirt cuff. It is up to you if you want more. Many of my jackets are altered to show 1/2 inch of shirt cuff. You can do 3/4 for a real F/U look.
